What is Super 12 Doubles?
This is a beach tennis tournament for fixed pairs, with each pair meeting every other pair once. The number 12 counts pairs, not people. You need 24 players, and results rank the 12 partnerships.
Choose it for twelve partnerships when you want a full comparison between pairs without separate groups. It is a substantial schedule: 66 matches before any final. For a short session, check court capacity before opening entries.
How many pairs, rounds and matches?
| Measure | Count | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| Pairs / people | 12 / 24 | Partners remain fixed. |
| Rounds | 11 | 6 matches per round. |
| Matches per pair | 11 | One against every other pair. |
| Base-schedule byes | 0 | Every pair plays in every round. |
| Total matches | 66 | 12 × 11 ÷ 2 = 66 |
With 6 courts, all matches in a round can start together. With fewer, use successive court calls: waiting for a court does not add a bye or change the 11 rounds.
How to form and keep pairs
Enter ready-made pairs, draw partnerships from one player list, or use two equally sized pots, pairing one person from each. Partners stay together after this initial formation.
Enter 24 names in the single list, or 12 in each pot. Pots can help combine two experience groups you know; the app does not verify anyone’s playing ability.
These guides explain how Super Beach organizes play, rather than a universal beach tennis rulebook. Agree match length, finishing rules, lateness and walkovers before the first match.
A round to check before play
In Copa Duplas 12, each name below identifies a fictional fixed pair. This is one possible set of opening matchups; another draw may assign opponents differently. Once formed, partnerships stay fixed. Drawing partners, organizing matchups and choosing extra finals are separate steps.
| Round / match | Pair A | Pair B | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 / 1 | Athlete E1 + Athlete E2 | Athlete F1 + Athlete F2 | To play |
| 1 / 2 | Athlete B1 + Athlete B2 | Athlete L1 + Athlete L2 | To play |
| 1 / 3 | Athlete A1 + Athlete A2 | Athlete J1 + Athlete J2 | To play |
| 1 / 4 | Athlete K1 + Athlete K2 | Athlete D1 + Athlete D2 | To play |
| 1 / 5 | Athlete H1 + Athlete H2 | Athlete C1 + Athlete C2 | To play |
| 1 / 6 | Athlete G1 + Athlete G2 | Athlete I1 + Athlete I2 | To play |
With three courts, each six-match round needs two calls, giving 22 calls over eleven rounds. At an assumed twenty minutes per call, that is 7 hr 20 min (440 minutes) of play alone; this is a planning assumption, not an app guarantee.
Standings only or extra finals?
The initial setting adds no final. Results then come from standings after resolving ties. If you want deciding matches on court, choose a finals option when creating the tournament.
| Option | Matchups | Tournament total |
|---|---|---|
| No extra final | Standings decide. | 66 |
| Top-two final | 1st × 2nd | 67 (66 + 1) |
| Top-four playoffs | Semifinals 1st × 4th and 2nd × 3rd; final and third-place match. | 70 (66 + 4) |
Complete the base schedule and resolve ties affecting qualification before generating finals. Correcting a score later can change who should advance and invalidate future matches. You also choose courts, court names and ranking policy.
The initial reference is 6 games. This version’s creation form does not offer a score-target selector. A score reference alone does not define how a match ends.
Pair standings and tiebreaks
The Super Beach default
The record belongs to the pair. Compare total wins first, then game difference (for minus against), then games for. Do not add both partners’ figures: a 6–3 result records six games for the pair, not twelve.
Illustrative 6–3 score; it does not set match length or finishing rules.
| Per pair | W | GF | GA | GD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Winning pair | 1 | 6 | 3 | +3 |
| Losing pair | 0 | 3 | 6 | −3 |
W: wins · GF: games for · GA: games against · GD: difference.
For new fixed-pair tournaments, the form also starts with head-to-head selected after the three numerical criteria. It can only settle a tie between exactly two pairs; see below.
Questions before opening entries
Can I play with 12 people?
Not in this format: it needs 12 pairs and 24 people. For 12 players with rotating partners, see Super 12 Individual.
Can partners change during the schedule?
This is a fixed-pair structure. Changing partners every round belongs to individual formats, not the fixed-pair round robin.
Are there groups before the final?
Not in this schedule: every pair meets every other pair once. Optional finals follow that complete phase.
Can I shorten the round count?
The traditional schedule is complete. For fixed pairs with an adjustable round count, see Create your Super and check how opponents and byes differ.
Does it require PRO?
Yes. Check access and your installed version before preparing the event.
