Keep a copy. Know how to restore it.

Your tournaments are stored on your device. Create backups and keep the files somewhere you can access later.

What your copy contains

A backup contains tournaments, Circuits, drafts, settings and inactive records preserved by the app. It captures what was exported at that moment: later changes need a new copy.

A standard backup keeps data for manual restoration. It does not carry private Live Link controls, grant PRO or publish a tournament. To use the file on another device, review compatibility and warnings in the preview before restoring.

Create and check the file

  1. Open Settings → Backup → Create backup.
  2. Choose Save file and finish choosing a destination in the system dialog. Or choose Share a copy and complete the transfer to your chosen destination.
  3. In your file manager or chosen service, locate the .sbbackup. Check its name, date and that it is actually there. Opening and then canceling a share sheet does not confirm a saved file.
  4. Keep a copy outside the app’s private storage, in an accessible folder or a destination you trust. If using cloud storage, check that the transfer completed.

The app can tell you when changes were made after the last confirmed backup. This is a reminder to export again; it does not mean a new copy was created automatically. Super Beach does not provide automatic cloud backups.

Create backup: review what is included and choose to save or share a copy.

Select the file and review the preview

  1. If possible, first back up your current data and check where that file was saved.
  2. Open Backup → Restore backup. Select the complete file without editing its contents.
  3. For an older protected file, enter its password when prompted. Check the date, contents, warnings and conflicts in the preview.
  4. Choose a restore mode below, resolve any conflicts shown, then confirm. Wait for completion before checking the restored tournaments.

Choose what happens to your current data

Three modes with different effects
OptionWhat happensWhat to check
Merge with my dataKeeps your current data and adds compatible content from the backup. When the app recognizes the same item with identical content, it does not create another copy.If the app recognizes different versions of the same item, review each conflict. Options may include keeping the current version, using the backup version or importing a copy. Not every option is available for every conflict.
Replace my dataReplaces the tournaments, Circuits, drafts and local settings covered by the backup. An additional confirmation is required.Current data missing from the file will no longer appear among the app’s active data. This action does not replace PRO access, purchases, device settings or external files.
Import as a copyAdds separate copies of the items while preserving your current ones. It does not restore control of the original Live Links. The app may treat items with the same name as different items. Repeating this import can create additional copies. For Super 40, this operation requires PRO and some histories with extra matches are incompatible. Check the warnings.

If data changes during preparation, the app may request a fresh preview. Selecting a file alone does not complete a restore. Afterwards, open the items and check scores, settings and relevant links.

Older backups and version differences

Older password-protected administrative files can be opened with their password to import compatible content. The 1.5.0 Create backup screen does not offer a new administrative backup.

When restoring an older file, compatible data is separated from private Live controls; those controls are not recovered. The old file may still contain them, so protect both the file and its password. Super Beach does not receive or recover that password.

Android and iOS 1.5.0 use the standard backup described in the current policy. An older file’s compatibility is checked in the destination device’s preview. Read the warnings and keep the original until you have checked the restored data. If an option differs from these instructions, tell support your version.

See the Privacy Policy too.

The file is missing or will not open

I cannot find the file. Where should I look?

Check Downloads, Files and your chosen save destination. With a cloud provider, wait for the transfer to finish, then make sure the file is available in your device’s file browser. If you only opened the share sheet and canceled, export again and finish saving.

The import was rejected. What should I do?

Read the message. Use the complete .sbbackup, check its password where relevant and try another valid copy. Corrupt, incompatible files or invalid references can be rejected. Do not edit the file to bypass validation. Keep the original and contact support with your version and the message shown.

Can I recover data without a backup?

Without a valid copy, recovery may be impossible. Do not uninstall or clear data as an attempt to recover your collection. If another file is not recognized as a backup, keep the original and tell support its file type and the message shown.

Backups, subscriptions and Live are separate

  • Backup: a file containing compatible data you chose to export.
  • Restore subscription: checks your purchase with the store. See PRO guidance →
  • Synchronization: a backup does not keep two devices up to date together. Copying a file is a manual action.
  • Live Link: a read-only publication. Understand controls and validity →
