What is Super 16 Individual?

In beach tennis, Super 16 Individual places 16 players in doubles matches with rotating partners. “Individual” describes the standings: a pair’s win contributes to each person’s record. These are not singles matches or 16 fixed pairs.

It suits sixteen players who want to partner with everyone over the event. That variety comes with a longer schedule: each person plays fifteen matches. Check the group’s availability and stamina before choosing.

15 rounds × 4 matches = 60 matches. Checking participation: 16 players × 15 appearances ÷ 4 = 60. Each person plays once per round; waiting for a court is not a scheduled bye.

With four courts, there are fifteen simultaneous calls. With two, each four-match round needs two calls: thirty in total. The app supports one to four courts.

Who partners with whom, and who meets as opponents?

In the Super 16 base schedule, each player partners with every one of the other 15 players once. Every two players meet as opponents twice. These counts refer to individuals: meeting a person again does not mean facing the same opposing pair again.

The draw assigns names to schedule positions. Matchups are then set for every round. This is not Mexicano: a score changes standings but does not automatically rearrange the next round.

These guides explain how Super Beach organizes play, rather than a universal beach tennis rulebook. Agree match length, finishing rules, lateness and walkovers before the first match.

Follow the opening partner changes

Encontro 16 uses fictional player names. These three rounds show one possible draw: follow one player as partners change and the individual record continues. The draw and selected leveling influence player assignments; round and participation counts follow this format’s structure.

What to choose before generating

  • Enter all 16 names and choose the court count. Name the courts to make calls easier.
  • Choose totals or averages and the order of ranking criteria. Tied scores are an option, disabled initially.
  • Advanced leveling uses the supplied player order to seek more balanced matchups. It requires PRO and does not guarantee equal playing ability.
  • Player count and this format’s schedule are fixed. For another supported group size, see Create your Super; to keep partners together, choose fixed pairs.

The initial reference is 6 games. This version’s creation form does not offer a score-target selector. A score reference alone does not define how a match ends.

Individual standings determine the result after ties are resolved. This format does not offer the top-two or top-four extra finals found in fixed-pair formats. Additional tiebreak matches are not part of the base-schedule counts.

The record belongs to the player, even though matches are doubles. Compare total wins first, then game difference (for minus against), then games for.

A pair wins 6–3: the result counts for each player.

Options and practical situations

Totals and averages

During an unfinished round, recorded match counts can differ. Totals and per-match averages may produce different standings. Everyone will have played the same number of matches by the end of the base schedule. You can choose the basis and criterion order in the app.

Tied scores

Tied scores start disabled. If the organizer allows them in qualifying rounds, a completed draw adds one match and each side’s games, without a win. Knockout and tiebreak matches require a winner.

Head-to-head and remaining ties

Head-to-head is not a configurable automatic criterion in Super 16 Individual. Changing partners is part of the competition; do not single out one match to settle a tie. Once the schedule is complete, use the resolution options offered by the app and record the agreed decision.

Restored tournaments

A restored tournament may retain its existing policy. Check that event’s ranking basis, criterion order and outstanding ties.

Organizer questions

Do I enter ready-made pairs?

No. Enter individual players. The schedule defines their partners.

Does everyone play the same number of matches?

Yes, once the base schedule is complete: 15 per player, with no scheduled byes. Partial standings can show unequal recorded counts while a round is unfinished.

Can I use standings to choose the next round?

Not in this fixed schedule. For successive rounds influenced by results, explore Mexicano and its supported group sizes.

Do more players just mean more courts?

No. There are also more matches per player and more matches overall. Plan court calls, breaks and expected duration before booking.

Is it included for free?

No. Super 12 and Super 16 Individual require PRO. Super 8 Individual is the free option, with one active tournament.
